North Carolina Motorsport Association launches new initiative

27th July 2007

The US based North Carolina Motorsports Association has launched a new IE2 workforce development Initiative.

The initial aim of IE2 is to introduce people to the motorsport industry and its career and business opportunities. This is followed by a three part programme involving education, internships and then employment.

Sharon Wright of Imagine This! Creative Concepts which has partnered with the NCMA to develop and manage components for the Introduction element of IE2 said, “Through the newly formed IE2 Workforce Development Initiative, many people, especially youth, will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge of the industry and the vast options that it offers for education, training and employment.”

NCMA executive director Andy Papathanassiou said, “Through the four pillars of IE2 – Introduce, Educate, Intern, Employ, we begin to create a career path which starts with young children and can lead to motorsports industry jobs and careers. This program kicks off an effort to put us on par with what occurs naturally with our youth in other professional sports.”
