Cosworth Ltd is delighted to announce it has gained the prestigious AS/EN9100 accreditation to manufacture products for the Aerospace sector. This approval recognises the procedures and processes Cosworth has implemented across its business functions to deliver products that meet and exceed the expectations of clients in the Aerospace industry.

This certification reflects Cosworth’s commitment to continuous improvement in every function of its organisation. The standard takes ISO 9001:2000 (Quality Management System) and specifies the additional requirements that are paramount for ensuring quality components for the Aerospace industry.

"The fact that we achieved this accreditation so quickly is a testament to the quality of our people, business processes and understanding of the market needs. Furthermore, it shows the high level of commitment Cosworth has made to being successful in the aerospace sector ", commented, Tim Routsis, CEO of Cosworth Ltd.

Investment in processes, systems and capital equipment has been recognised by key blue-chip, Tier 1, global aerospace players, a number of whom have awarded component supply contracts to Cosworth.

"Our customers can be confident of Cosworth's total commitment to quality products and service; AS9100 is one of the key milestones of our strategic plan to develop a successful aerospace customer portfolio, alongside motorsport, automotive and other adjacent market clients", said, Jog Lall, Cosworth's Sales & Marketing Director.

Ian Allan, Quality Manager – Cosworth and Stephen Baker, Marketing Director – BSI, presented the AS/EN9100 certificate to Tim Routsis. Stephen Baker went on to say, “every employee in Cosworth should be proud of this achievement, companies with AS9100 are in a select group.”

Andrew Mair, Chief Executive of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, expressed the importance of quality standards in a safety critical market and extended his congratulations to the entire Cosworth workforce.

Cosworth are now in the processes of developing procedures to attain AS/EN9100 for engineering services.
