We are pleased to announce DRIVENet’s first forum of 2009!
Title: Powertrain and energy sources in future vehicles
Date: April 7th, 2009
Venue: Wheatley Campus, Oxford Brookes University, Oxford UK
Come and see the Electric Smart Car and learn about its development!
DRIVENet is the automotive Network based at Oxford Brookes University. Through its Sustainable Vehicle Engineering Centre, DRIVENet is at the forefront of developing new technologies to help the motor industry meet the sustainability challenges of the future. It is concerned with the whole lifecycle of the motor vehicle from raw materials, to design, powertrain, fuels, manufacture, disassembly, recycling and reuse of components and materials. DRIVENet also specialises in forecasting, strategy and the implications of legislation.
This event will explore, through a series of presentations, the future of powertrains and energy sources for road vehicles. The presentations will be given by expert representative speakers from Arup, BERR, BP, Mercedes Benz and Pemberton Associates, as well as leading members of the Sustainable Vehicle Engineering Centre (SVEC).
Delegates will have the time to discuss with our panel of speakers, and amongst themselves, the issues presented during the course of the day.
Our programme will include presentations on:
- Ideal energy sources and biofuels
- UK Government perspective
- Electrification of personal transport and electric vehicle technology
- Forecasting: the future of the automotive sector in numbers against the background of the current economic challenges.
Viewing of electric vehicles will also form part of the day.
The cost for attendance will be £175 plus VAT. Please note that attendance is free to Gold members of the DRIVENet Network.
Please visit our website www.drivenet.org.uk to download a Registration Form and a DRIVENet Application Form. Further details on the event will be updated regularly on our website, so please keep checking.
