CARE
CARE is a collaborative project involving the main UK motor vehicle manufacturers/importers and vehicle dismantlers. It's objective is to research and technically prove materials re-use and recycling processes with a view to reducing the amount of scrapped vehicle waste going to landfill from the disposal of End of Life Vehicles (ELV's).

ECOTEC is a wholly independent, international company providing specialist services in the fields of Economic, Environmental, Social and RTD/Innovation policy. ECOTEC services include conducting environmental reviews, waste and energy audits (on behalf of Local Authorities) and implementing ISO 14001 systems at automotive and other manufacturing sites. The company also delivers environmental management and IT / ICT training.
EVUK campaigns from an environmental standpoint for the introduction of long range electric/clean fuel vehicles into society. The CVUK web site provides information and links on the subject including news stories where decision makers have implemented policies encouraging the intorduction of cleaner fuel vehicles into their towns/cities/regions.
Envirowise
Envirowise promotes the use of better environmental technologies and practices that reduce costs for UK industry, and is jointly funded by DTI and DETR. The broad themes are waste minimisation and cost effective cleaner technology, but it has also given special attention to foundries, metal finishing/surface engineering, volatile organic compounds, glass, paper and board, food and drink, printing industries, and speciality chemicals, and more recently engineering and ceramics industries.

Developed by the Energy Saving Trust, PowerShift (now known as TransportAction PowerShift) has been set up with the aim of 'kick-starting' the market for clean fuel vehicles (CFVs) in the UK. The PowerShift website includes a range of information on CFV's including details of funding available, newsletters, factsheets, case studies, workshops and events information, and links to CFV sites.
