BHR Group is a research and technology company offering expertise to a wide range of industries including aerospace, automotive, chemical and utilities. The BTC promotes the use of standardised test procedures for automotive fuels and lubricants and develops and implements quality test procedures, in concert with similar organisations in other European countries. BTC is a non-commercial organisation and membership is by application. Membership of BTC is open to companies or organisations operating in the UK and contributing, either by manufacturing or laboratory testing, to the business of the motor, petroleum and allied industries. Envirowise
Envirowise promotes the use of better environmental technologies and practices that reduce costs for UK industry, and is jointly funded by DTI and DETR. The broad themes are waste minimisation and cost effective cleaner technology, but it has also given special attention to foundries, metal finishing/surface engineering, volatile organic compounds, glass, paper and board, food and drink, printing industries, and speciality chemicals, and more recently engineering and ceramics industries.

Based at Abington near Cambridge since 1946 TWI is one of the World's foremost independent research and technology organisations. It is a company limited by guarantee, organised on behalf of some 3500 Member companies worldwide, reinvesting all surpluses back into the organisation. TWI provides services to the automotive industry through it's skilled staff who work with vehicle manufacturers, component and assembly manufacturers, materials suppliers, specialist vehicle builders, and motorsport specialists.
USCAR is the umbrella organization of DaimlerChrysler, Ford and General Motors, which was formed in 1992 to further strengthen the technology base of the domestic auto industry through cooperative, pre-competitive research. Vehicle Certification Agency
VCA is a DfT agency responsible for ensuring vehicles and vehicle parts have been designed and constructed to meet internationally agreed standards of safety and environmental protection (Type Approval). VCA also provides a Management System Certification service to the automotive industry. The web site gives information on all VCA's services including the New Car Fuel Consumption and Emissions Database and CO2 Database.
The Virtual Automotive Information Centre (VAIC) is an online automotive information service provided by MIRA.
