EEMS report 2005

During 2004, the work of the EEMS project team began in earnest under the auspices of Motorsport Development UK (MDUK).  In order to raise awareness of EEMS within motorsport, the team decided to invite applications from race teams with real projects that demonstrated EEMS principles.  The outcome of this was support for three cars, each running on alternative fuels within established series:

  • Team Nasamax, running an LMP1 prototype on bio-ethanol

  • Taurus Motorsport, also running at Le Mans but on diesel fuel

  • Mardi Gras, competing in the British Touring Car Championship using LPG

A report of these activities and lessons learned was published in early 2005, in collaboration with the Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) which played an important role in the development of EEMS.  This is highly recommended as an account of progress on EEMS so far.

The report includes articles on each of the teams and the potential for EEMS to bring new business to UK motorsport by demonstrating the technology development capability of the sector.

The report is available for download here (right-click and choose'Save Target As').  You are also welcome to order the hardcopy version from our publications section.
