The British Touring Car season is now over, and we had a hugely successful end to the season at Silverstone. We also added the 'Features' box on the front page to allow us to bring important information to your attention.

This month we reorganised the Touring Cars section to make it easier to understand. With the addition of Team RAC now running the E85 blend of bioethanol we now have more than one team to cover. We also made the race reports into a page of its own, which will feature reports for all of our EEMS supported BTCC teams.

Welcome! Since EEMS is at least in part about changing opinions and challenging fixed ideas, we thought it needed its own site and 'EEMS Online' is the result. 1 October 2005 is the official launch date and we have got off to a flying start thanks to our partners at the DTI's Auto Industry site. You will see that the format is similar, but the content is quite different. This is made possible by some sophisticated filters which allow, for example, motorsport news to be featured here while automotive stories are visible on the other site. But environmental articles, for example, are on both sites. Clever stuff.
1 October also saw an EEMS workshop at Brands Hatch, held to coincide with the final weekend of the 2005 BTCC season in which an EEMS-sponsored, bio-ethanol-powered Astra has been competing. It was a disappoining weekend for our driver Fiona Leggate (below) but a valuable and thought-provoking event for the rest of the party. A full report will be posted on the site shortly.
