New Toyota Hybrid Cell Developed
9th June 2008
Toyota has developed a new fuel cell hybrid vehicle that has increased the maximum cruising range from 205 miles to 515 miles.
The new Toyota FCHV-adv (Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicle-advanced) uses on-board high-pressure hydrogen tanks that allow the extra mileage before requiring fuel rehydration and a breather.
The car also features new technology which means it can operate in temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius. However Toyota say that they will have to reduce the costs before putting the FCHV-adv into production.
