The Oaktec Honda Civic Hybrid was the first hybrid car in the UK to take part in a circuit race. Jamie Corphostine of Autocar magazine and Gavan Kershaw of Lotus Cars co-drove in the 40 minute race at Rockingham on 28 September 2008 to collect data for the development of the competition hybrid system. Both drivers reported that the car handled well.
