MIA Awards Recognise Motorsport Industry's High Achievers

Winners of the Motorsport Industry Association's (MIA) prestigious Business Excellence Awards were announced last night (Thursday January 8) at the MIA's annual Awards Dinner at Autosport International, held at the NEC, Birmingham.


Widely regarded as the business and social highlight of the Autosport International Show (NEC, Birmingham, January 8-11), the 2004 Awards Dinner was attended by an audience of over 500 guests drawn from across the international motorsport community.


Any company with an involvement in motorsport is eligible to win one of the  awards, although nominations can only be made by members of the MIA. The 2004 winners in the seven key categories were as follows:


The Business of the Year Award (sponsored by Xtrac)
Winner: Alcon Components
2003 winner: Cosworth Racing


The Teamwork Award (sponsored by Alcon Components)
Winner: Bentley Motor Cars
2003 winner: West Surrey Racing


The Small Business of the Year Award (sponsored by Performance Racing Industry)
Winner: Crompton Technology Group (CTG)
2003 winner: Minister Racing Engines


The Export Achievement Award (sponsored by Autosport International)
Winner: Goodridge UK
2003 winner: Lola Cars International


The Rally Business of the Year Award (sponsored by Shell Racing Solutions)
Winner: Prodrive - Subaru World Rally Team
2003 winner Peugeot Sport


The Technology and Innovation Award (new category - sponsored by Ricardo)
Winner: Advanced Fuel Systems


The Service to the Industry Award (sponsored by Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire)
Winner: Sutton Motorsport Images
2003 winner: Autosport International and Autosport Engineering


The MIA first instituted the awards in 1995 to recognise excellence at all levels within the motorsport and high performance industry.
