Summary

This is the fourth report of the Cleaner Vehicles Task Force (CVTF). The report examines how the production of vehicles affects the environment and looks at the measures being taken to limit and reduce these impacts by both Government and industry, through regulation and manufacturers' own efforts. It covers the key stages from manufacture to disposal looking at use of raw materials, waste and the potential for recycling. The report goes on to explore the concepts of sustainable development as a means to bring about future efficiency improvements in the manufacturing process.
